"My whimsical "twig or rustic style" suet bird feeders are cut from selected tree limbs or branches chosen for their "personality." (I live in a heavily wooded area with an abundant and never-ending supply of natural material.) My birdhouse feeders are embellished with cedar-shingled or rusty metal roofs and decorated with twig perches, then hand painted (in acrylics) with colorful designs and sealed for durability."
Concrete Mushrooms and Bird Baths
"Each of my handmade sand-cast mushrooms and bird baths is a unique garden ornament. I carve the initial shape in a bed of sand, fill this shape with concrete, and then hand sculpt the mushroom or a bird bath before it is fully set.
Once cured, I paint it with successive layers of acrylic paint and washes to achieve a natural yet almost luminescent finish. Then each is protected with concrete sealer to ensure that it will endure."
